BR330T Software

Hi all. I have my first Uniden radio on the way & I would like some opinions on what would be the best software match for the 330? I've always had & used RS scanners with winsoft software. There seems to be a bit of choice out there. I would prefer to just buy one product. I would like the capability to program & control the radio as well as possibly decode the Fire Tone Out codes.

I've been using the UASD software from Uniden and I like it. It is fairly simple and I don't have much trunking in my area. I also do not use the fire tone out feature you are looking for. It's good basic software and fairly cheap compared to many of the others.

Thanks for the info. I'm at a toss up between that & the ARC software.

ARC is better from what I can see but considerably more expensive also. You can download trial versions of each and try them out before you buy the full packages.

Scan Control also now handles the 330. It too has a trial version, and actually comes in 2 flavors - a programming only version, and the full version. It also has the Racing Edition version as well, in case you were thinking of using the 330 in that mode.

I'm using the Uniden software. If you don't need web import, it works well. You can still do web import on Motorola systems as a donating member with a file created by UPMan. I know it's in the file section of the Yahoo groups for the BC246T & BCD396T, haven't checked the 330's group.

For logging & recording, AVC396 does work on the BR330T. The Uniden software has logging, but only on trunked systems. AVC396 logs & records both trunked & conventional traffic, as well as offering record capability. This program is freeware.
