Quite a few, actually. There's a very active Yahoo group for this software. In addition, there's a sister program called DSC Decoder (I think the link is on the page you've mentioned) that goes along with this, but works on the DSC HF calls.

If I were heavy into marine monitoring, this would definitely be in my toolkit. 73s Mike

The latest dev version of Oziexplorer GPS/mapping program supports AIS decoding also now...

I've just started playing around with ShipPlotter from here near Toledo Ohio. I've been able to decode a few ships and tugs coming into the Maumee channel and River area up to various docks this afternoon. Most interesting is the ability to easily share data via the Internet with all other users. Anybody else in the Lake Erie or Great Lakes area that is using this program?

I use it along the St Clair River. I see ships from Lake Huron down into the Lake St Clair. If the skip is good I have had ships out to Cleveland and Toronto

That's the power of the 'sharing' feature. I'm receiving and sharing activity from the western basin of Lake Erie. Everything else is coming from the Internet. There is somebody else near Cleveland, somebody towards the eastern end of the lake, and somebody from Lake Ontario, etc.

I ran it through the trial period here in Hampton Roads Virginia. Many US Navy ships are blocked on this program though USNS ships are not.

Blocked ? or not transmitting AIS on a Routine Basis?

Bill, are you licensed for ShipPlotter? How do you like it?

It was some time ago that I tried the program, though really don't want to dedicate the time to keep running. It also uses quite a bit of PC resources.

However, it surely does track operations coming into the Chesapeake Bay and shipping routes up to the York & Potomac Rivers and Baltimore. Even to the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal to Philly. Or into our area up to Richmond on the James or stopping at the NNews terminals/shipyard or going down the Elisabeth to NavBase, NIT or PIT or the various shipyards joining Norfolk and Portsmouth. Lot of commercial and USNS traffic but very little US Naval traffic.

Only viewed via someone elses, as Yet, I have not dedicated a Rcvr and a Computer to it.

Might in the near future [got a use Desk Top, I'm cleaning up], but my main PC is set up for Team Speak, feeding audio for USCG Sector Boston.

I'm running the 21-day trial. So far, I've configured and turned on every "sharing" option I can find but have yet to see any data from the Internet.
