Police Call CD-ROM 3.0 (2001?)
My friend gave me an original Police Call CD-ROM 3.0. I installed the program. When I tried to run the program, to continue, the program requires an access word. The word it requires is from the Police Call book with which it came. The word is the "last word on page 9 of the User Guide" of the Police Call book.
My friend told me that he did not have his book anymore or that it is lost in a box in his garage. He kept the CD with his other computer software. He does not have his scanner anymore and therefore gave me his CD.
I believe the Police Call book is the 2001 California (and other Western states) edition.
If anyone has this book, could you please post or PM me the word I am seeking.
Thanks in advance.
Here is a scan I made of the CD:

Try xxxxxxxxxx. That is what is on pg9 of volume 3/4. I believe the listener's guide section was the same for all volumes in that year.

No you don't this is copy right infringement and is breaking the law and the rules here. I would hope.

Um, I own the CD now. There is no "copy right infringement" or "breaking the law and rules" at all. It is just a matter of a lost password. I have not copied anything, it is the original CD.

Update
After reviewing the message, it actally reads something different than what I originally wrote. I am not sure if there is a difference. Here is what it reads:
To access the POLICE CALL CD for the first time, refer to the Listeners' Guide section of the current POLICE CALL book. Enter the word requested and click Continue. You will then be able to access this CD.Please enter the last word on page 9 of the Listener's Guide. So I am not sure if it needs to be from the current book or the original one. I am only guessing that the original one is 2001 because of dates indicated in the software. The message seems to indicate that there is a seperate page number for the Listeners' Guide than the rest of the book; again, I am not sure.

He owns the CD outright so there is nothing wrong with what he is asking. What you should be doing is helping him out with the word he needs instead of giving a hard time for no reason.

Actually, Microsoft has sent me an entire CD of Office when I had a similar problem. The only requirement they had was that I fax, email, or mail them a photocopy of my original disks or CDs. (See the OP pic).

I too have many old POLICE CALL books from the 80's and early 90's (before they put in the CDs). I have seen this program and I would tend to agree that RR is far superior. However, I like to get my information from as many sources as possible for missed information, verification, and cross-referencing.
I currently use Scannerstuff Frequency Directory.

I knew that when I wrote this post that someone would do this. Isn't there always one in every bunch?
I appreciate all those who are trying to help and I would do the same.

So this publication is gone forever? Man, this was like the biggest one ever for the who country. I have ones that date back into the '80s.
I like my new Scannstuff Southern California Frequency Directory 2nd Edition (advertised by RR) - very thorough, very few mistakes, and includes free updates.
I have one called ScanFan for SoCal as well (old - purple book - concentrated on San Deigo, but covered all SoCal). It was pretty good when it was current. I have several others, too. Gene Hughes (the maker of Police Call) used to have a special Southern California (SoCal) edition that was fantastic - stopped making that one a few years ago.
