Important note for USB interface users
For those of you not aware already...
If you are using Windows XP (and possibly 2000) and utilizing your USB ports for your scanner interface you may want to do the following:
Go into Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Universal Serial Bus.
Once there go to USB Root Hub/Power Management and make sure the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is un-checked.
This will solve many of those "I can't figure out why this stops working intermittantly" issues with devices interfaced via USB.
