Default Programming Pro-2096

Hello, just got my Pro2096 today and started programming it with WIN96 software.,
I live in SE Kansas and have started picking up the KHP , but at times on the local Buffalo tower the signal cuts out and drops out at times., is there some "fine" tuning on the scanner to help this ? Most of the time its pretty good but digital sounds "tinnie" at times
thanks for any reply...

I have a similar problem with the Houston FD here. However, they use PL as opposed to DPL but maybe my solution will help, I just took the tone out. What would happen is that the tone was being affected by the deviation from the (I suspect badly maintained) transmitters on some channels so the tone squelch would stop detecting and close the squelch causing a "drop out". Taking out the CTCSS solved the problem.
