having problems with freq counter 1.01

problems with freq counter 1.01 it works with one computer and wont work with another. The desktop works fine nothing running it reads all kinds of numbers laptop wont read nothing I messed with hysteresis numbers and stuff even timer. Forgot *with*. Been trying to get some fire tone out for the 396 radio.
