Question WIN 96 download problem

Hi Guys... long time no talk to...
My Thornton PD freqs have stopped working so I went into my win 96 to re-load them. However I am getting this error:

XML error detected: junk after document element

near:

<br />
<b>
^

while requesting URL:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/xml1.1/?ctid=241

It also says to copy this error and post it here so it can be fixed in the RR Database.

I am clueless as usual.

Any help with this would be very helpful.

Thanks........ Mic

It fails on all Win96 & Win97 imports. ARC works ok so I suspect Don is doing some changes since starting the 180 day temporary use of Winxx. However, it is now nearly 26 hours since the original post by Mic.

Default Gulp

Ah, after posting, Jambo found the solution in the Win97 thread early this am. Remove 1.1, which is Rick's suggestion. <Gulp> Sorry bout that Rick.

That seems to only work for trunked systems.

Yup, you're correct. ARC only works on Trunked systems also. I can get into Conventional, but nothing is listed under the <Select> dialog for import.

I saw the problem yesterday (and confirmed it in a web browser), but both trunked and conventional seem to be working now, using the 1.1 version of the URL.

EDIT: Lindsay posted a reply to a similar thread in the Administration forum at 0641 PST this morning, saying it should be working now. Apparently, he fixed something.

This is never a good idea. The access via "\xml\..." as opposed to the correct "\xml1.1\..." is only there for compatibility with older software that was written (and not updated) when the Web Service specification changed.

As pointed out in other threads, this was a RR Site problem and has been resolved, so this thread is closed.
