Hardware Recommendations for Wireless Control of Radio on Home Network???

Hello,

I have a Uniden 780XLT that I would like to control using ARC780 from accross the room. Has anyone tried to run a radio wirelessly using a serial to wifi device server/client bridge? Is there anyway to do it using Bluetooth dongles?

For the above question, the scanner would NOT be physically wired to a PC...

We have done this in the past using Bluetooth to serial adaptors, they are no cheap but it works.
Basicly these adaptors replace a serial cable by a wireless link, only problem is they require external power so we modified the scanner (BC796) to supply 5 Volt.
