I just set it up in about 2 mins. did you set the correct com port? did you select the correct scanner model? can you provide a screen shot of what you have so far? can you connect internally with another PC in the house?

How many computers do you have at your location? I can make some testing recommendations once I understand if you have a 2nd machine besides the one you are running the EasyStream Server on, to install the EasyStream Client upon, or if you only have 1 system, I can tell you some ways to test after you install the client on that system.
I was unable to connect to the server name you posted above.

Install the client on the one that's not running the server, and then try and connect using the local LAN IP address for the notebook runing the server. Make sure you use the same audio and data ports that you configured the server for.
If that works, then you can move on to the next step of making sure that the router and firewalls are not blocking and your DNS is resolving so that outside folks can listen, or you can listen when you are away.
If it doesn't work locally between the 2 computers, then check settings again and also make sure that the Windows firewall or any similar security software (Norton, McAfee) isn't blocking the ports needed by the progam. The defaults are 8100 and 8101.

so are you having trouble connecting with the other laptop (one not running the server)? are you using the external DNS (the noip account) or are you trying the PC name on the PC running the server?ou onl
if you are trying internal (with the other laptop) you only need to use the name or IP of the PC running the server. if you are trying to test as if you are from somewhere else (like me trying to connect) you will need to know and do a few things before that will be possible. if you are using a hardwre firewall/router, you will need to forward the data and audio ports to the PC running the server. you will also need to reconfigure any software firewall running on the "server" PC.
my network is not typical so what I've done may be different then what you will need to do. you will need to be specific to what you are having trouble with.

if it's WinXP, go to start, run type in CMD
once at a command prompt, type "ipconfig" (no "") then hit enter.

i just need to know each step exactly to make to set this up. then i will know if i missed a step.
right now my server easystream is running i see the scanner text displayed and the green light is on, i also need to know what to put in the server info on the line IP/DNS
then can you manually put in the info on the client for other computer to test it or do you have to report to the easystream people the name of you site to put on the list before anyone can tune in?

not sure who the "easystream people" are. you will need to share the address you created with noip service you mentioned before. there was probably some software you would need to install on a PC in your home (most likely the laptop running the easystream server). all it does is report to them (the noip software maker) your external IP (the one you use to connect to the internet).
have you tried connecting to the server using the internal IP of the other laptop like edweirdFL suggested? make sure to use the IPCONFIG like I suggested. this is your FIRST STEP
edweirdFL's advise is correct.
1. install the software
2. leave the default ports alone
3. chose the correct model of scanner
4. chose the correct com port number
5. start it
6. use the IPCONFIG command I mentioned to get the INTERNAL IP of the server PC
7. install the client on the other PC and use the IP from step 7
see if those are correct and post your findings

In a 'local' network you must use the local IP address of the server to connect, not the NO-IP address.
Open a dos prompt and then use IPCONFIG to find the local IP address ( something like 192.168.x.x) and enter that in the client.
You can run server and client on the same PC, to test you must use the special 'loopback' IP address 127.0.0.1
Once this works you can setup the 'no-ip' software and open the ports in your cable/DSL modem/router so people from the rest of the world can connect to your server.

Try Start-Programs-Accessories-Command Prompt
Or...on the server, double-click the Network Connection icon in the task tray, select the Support Tab and the IP address listed is the one assigned to that machine.
