ARC246 with other Sanners

Hi,
I just recently purchased a Uniden 246T and bought the ARC246 software as well.
Will the ARC246 work with other Uniden scanners are is it proprietary to the 246T?

I think it's just set up for the 246. If you need support for other scanners, I would think you'd need other software. There are packages, such as Scan Control, that support multiple Uniden models. 73s Mike

ARC246 will only talk to 246T's.

That's kinda what I was thinking since the name of the scanner is in the title of the software. I was hoping if I ever purchased a Digital Uniden that I could use that software. Any software you guys know of that works across the board with all Uniden scanners. I would really like something that's open source and free but that may be a little to much to ask for.

Nothing that fits those 2 constraints - as I mentioned before, Scan Control works with all the Uniden digitals (and the 780, 895 and 245)

Right now the author is working on fixing bugs (always, with this kind of software) and looking into recording capability - something that is really badly needed. There is also a dedicated Yahoo group for the software, so you can ask questions before you buy.

Thanks ka3jjz. Yeah, When I get a digital I'll have to look into " Scan Control " .
It would be nice to have a program that worked with both a digital and analog
scanner. Oh well, I guess that's apple and oranges as far as scanners are
concerned. Thanks again for your help.
