Butel Sofware rip off
Thought I would share this. I purchased ARC-8 from Butel on like. I fat fingered my email addy, and after 2 days or so I contacted the company that took the order. They relayed the info to Butel and I recieved a nasty note back about my fat finger issue. I waited anoher few days and still no software. The company that took the order told me they had to contact Butel to get authorization to refund the money. 3 more emails to each and no replies. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB against the company that took the order, and low and behold they refunded my money, like it was going to happen.
I would imagine there are users that are using this software and enjoy it. But I am posting this as my experiance.

I don't know quite how many people he has in his organization. So it may just be a case of he has a real job and doesn't watch the computer all day. I would let your credit card company know about it too.

It sounds like your problem was between you, and the company you ordered the software through. So explain again why Butel software is a rip off?

Butel Good / Reseller Bad
Butel makes, sells, and supports their product very well.
It appears you dealt with a company who is an authorized distributor (a reseller) of Butel's software. Butel (nor any manufacturer of anything which is sold through distributors) is in control or can even have knowledge of individual transactions....good or bad.
May I suggest aiming your frustration toward the firm with whom your order was placed.
Sounds like whoever the reseller was, did not know what they were doing.
All of us have been on the receiving end of bad service at one time or another. It stinks when it happens.
Good luck and happy scanning,
Julian

Butel has eleven dealers now, and is also promoting an affiliate program that sounds like almost anyone with a web site can sign up for.
I'll stick to dealing direct with Butel, and Gommert!

Can you translate that into English so we'll all know what you are talking about?

It means not only can he/she not type correctly, as most normal people do, they also did not double check the information keyed in before submitting the purchase. So whos fault is that??
While we are on the subject of Butel ..
I like Butel, I own Butel software .. but the Butel website sucks. Sometimes when you click on a link in english it takes you to one in another language. IMO, it needs to be over hauled.

No wonder he has problems. Not only can he not type correctly, but then he can't even put it into words correctly. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Anytime I've had questions concerning their product they got right back to me the same day or the very next day at the least. I have never purchased any of their products, but I do know they are prompt on their responses to general or technical questions. That in itself is a plus. Most E-merchants take for ever and a day to get back to you with a solution. All I can say is I have read alot of good things about Butel, and if there ever came a time that I needed their product, I wouldn't think twice about it. However if and when that time arises, I'll make sure to go straight to the source and not through some Joe Shmoe.com website. Ya gotta be careful who ya buy from on the internet these days. There's alot of ripoffs out there just waiting for some sucker to turn over all their credit card info so they can go shopping theirselves.

I am going to post ONE message about this so people know the complete story so they can make a judgement, i am NOT going to discuss this since this case is closed.
- you ordered software from a dealer in CA not BuTel but YOU entered the wrong email address so our email messages and from the dealer bounced
- the dealer tried to contact you by phone, left messages on your answering machine but we never heard back
- YOU then started to send emails using language I will not repeat since I will be kicked of this forum.
- we were trying to help and all you did was shout at us and I will not accept that so me and the dealer decided to fully refund your money so for us the case is closed.

And with that fine explanation, I think we will leave this one at that. Closed
