Default win 96 registration key

I have the RS Pro96 scanner, and purchased the win96 software for it. i have recently upgraded my computer from xp to vista, and now when i open the win96 program, it's saying "buy now", along with the "ok" button and another button. will i have to purchase this software again? can i use a temporary registration? i'm not sure what i can do without paying for the software twice. i don't have the email that was sent to me with the activation code on it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
much thanks,
marc

First, moved to it's own thread.

Second, well not having the registration code sent previously is certainly your fault. Don in the past has provided this to registered users; however, during his "missing in action" time, he may have rethought that. I would use the temporary ID/Passwords provided by Don (due to his absence) and then shoot off an email to him telling your story. If you have changed your email since your initial registration, please let him know and provide the original email address so he can look up your registration under the original email if he decides to send you a replacement key.

I'm guessing one of you doesn't know what you are talking about. I will keep to myself who I trust in this difference of viewpoint.

I happened to make the same mistake when I went from Windows 98 to XP. I'd FORGOTTEN about my Win96 purchase.

That WASN'T Don's fault.

It's such a good program that I just got out the old credit card and BOUGHT it again !!!! I wasn't going to trouble Don for MY silly error !!! Just like toward the end of this year, when my RR paid subscription expires, I'll get out the checkbook (I don't trust Pay-Pal I think they've been hacked once too often) and send them another check to re-up!!!

I don't know when, if ever, I will upgrade to Vista. But, when I do, I'LL REMEMBER my Win96 progran !!!!

I am going to reply to this then close this old thread, recently revived (for some strange reason.) You get your key when you pay for the software via return email. If you didn't get the return email containing your key, I suggest you check your spam/junk mail box; the key is automatically generated and sent at time of sale.
