Default What Software??

Hi All,
I have a Uniden BC9000XLT with a bum display.
The radio still works fine though.....
I want to add a discriminator tap, and found the schematic for it....looks easy enough.
My Question is, what software would be my best to use so i can at least see what I am hearing when I interface it with my pc, Free or otherwise
This radio doesn't trunk so that isn't needed...

Thanks for any input

Doug

Unfortuneately, the BC9000XLT doesn't have a computer interface so it can not be control by software.

I don't want to control it... or program it...I can still do that manually

I just want the pc to display what is being received...I have a schematic to add the discriminator tap, so would that be possible?

Certainly - if you want to look at your trunk system's control channel, UniTrunker should do the job nicely. No external interface needed - just a good clean connection to your soundcard. You can find it here. Even if your display is gone, as long as you can program the correct frequency, I don't see any problem using this. 73s Mike

Depends on what you have in your area, so you'll need to be a bit more specific about what you're interested in displaying. 73s Mike
Thanks, Mike...All I want to do is see what channels I am hearing with a GUI display on the PC....
no programming needed...I have faulty lcd's, and can not find a replacement anywhere
This scanner does not support trunking, so don't need that feature
So Unitrunker would still work just using conventional scanning?

I can see some of the digits, but not all of them....

The answer is you can't do what you want. See Stupidfatkid's post above.

To do what you want, you radio must be able to be computer controlled.

LouMagg and StupidFatKid are both correct, of course - since the 9000 doesn't have a working display, using the scanner as a source for something like UniTrunker is about all you would be really able to do, since although you can still program, you can't tell what frequency it is on when scanning. It does not have to support trunking; UniTrunker will do all the work when it decodes the control channel. It will simply sit on that one frequency and show you what is going on in your local trunk system. Note that the channel changes once a day; you can look up the frequencies in the database

Time for a new scanner, I'm afraid. 73s Mike

See this post and the one following it in the proper forum for such questions. Unitrunker is a decoder program and hence, the proper forum to discuss it is the Trunker/Etrunker/T4Win Decoders forum.
