Default ARC 396 - Finding Duplicate Frequencies ??

I have 2 basic questions. I just started using the ARC396 Basic software, and so far I am happy with it. Maybe a bit pricey.

1. When you are in any search mode, can the ARC396 find duplicate frequencies that are already programmed into the entire radio? Can the 396 radio itself keep track of duplicates automatically, between search and scan, without manually searching for duplicates?

2. When the ARC396 attaches to the RR database, does it only automatically find just the trunked / digital systems to upload to the radio? Why can't it find and upload ANY and ALL systems to the scanner, (trunked or conv.), listed in the entire database. I have California CHP that I tried to find and ARC396 does not find it. So I had to input it manually from the web page itself. The web catcher does not capture everything, (text, names, ECT), only frequencies in the wrong order, mixing PL with frequencies.

What am I missing? I am still working off the DEMO version. Does the FULL version enable these features?

Thanks for any and all help.

I'm not sure what you mean. When what is in search mode? The scanner or software?

ARC396 finds duplicates within the same system

I'm not sure what you mean by "between search and scan."

When performing a Search and Store, the 396 will keep track of what is in the FOUND CHANNELS system only.

These features work with the beta version. Note that you must purchase the full version to use the beta.

Ok, thanks for the reply.
After reading several recent posts, I have my answer regarding duplicate channels. I let the ARC 396 do the searching in each system. The radio only keeps track of the current frequency group that your currently in.
As far as the ARC 396 allowing you to load conventional as well as truncked from the RR database, I need to purchase the ARC 396 Pro. Hmmm... Just a little more money takes care of it all.

Thanks,

I am using ARC396 V1.050 BETA BASIC and I can import the CHP frequencies into the software directly from the RR database. One problem is the software only imports the base frequenices not the mobile 'input' frequencies so you're still better off to program the CHP by hand. Just wanted to let you know you don't have to pay the big bucks for the PRO version, the BASIC version can import conv. freqs and trunked systems from the RR database.

I was really refering to the ARC396 importing into the scanner like it does the truck systems, totally automagically. You just pick your system and the software grabs it from the database and loads it into the browser area. Ready to load to the scanner.
But that process only works for trunked systems only. The rest is just cut, paste and type in. ARC396 was really onto something there. Why did they leave the conventional systems out of that process? I tried the ARC396pro and it does the same thing.

Still wondering...

Conv. import has been available for some time in ARC396 1.05beta/1.06beta but is for registered users only.
We are about to release ARC396 V2.0 later this week and that version also 'officially' supports conventional imports.
