Default Help with Win 92

When I try and paste freqs into Win 92 (or any version for that matter) the program only pastes the first row and places into the wrong column. For instance it pastes the channels into the first column which is the description instead of the freq column. Does anyone know why?

Whew, this brings back memories. First, I am moving this to the software support forum.

I know that copy/paste works in Win92, I used to do it all the time. I just looked but the discussion that took place on this very topic years ago is long gone into the bit-bucket. I looked for a copy of the pertinent parts of the discussion (which I copied to my HD back then) but I am on a new computer and not every document got migrated to it.

Maybe Don will chime in, and assuming you are copying from something like Excel, I think that you have to have the correct format for each column setup and that you must have something in each column required in Win92 or the copy process will stop on the first row. In regard to that remember there should be 8 columns. Also, I think but am not sure, that the frequency columns and PL/DPL columns have to be formatted as numbers with the appropriate number of decimal places (5 and 1).

As Lou stated, format the spreadsheet (excel in my case).

Code:
freq tag freq RX Mode PL/DPL Delay
1. Bedford Co 855.23750	EDACS 0.0
2. Obici 155.40000 PL	110.9 D
3. Obici 29.00000 PL	155.4
4. Obici 155.40000 PL	110.9
The above 4 samples were copied as follows:
1. Directly from a line on a Win92 file.
2. Directly from a line on a Win92 file then pasted into excel then formatted the freq to number with 4 decimal.
3. Same as in 2 but the freq was left to 155.4 in excel then copied and paste into Win92. Note, the unformatted freq did not paste.
4. Same as 1 but copied to excel first then copied to Win92 after reformatting the freq. Note, the absence of the D under delay in this instance.
One additional note on alpha tags...do not try to paste a tag which has more then 12 characters into either the freq tag or ID tag.

The ID number must meet the criteria for the type trunking system selected, and if EDACS or Mot type 1, must meet the AFS criteria if selected. In type IIi Mot, the correct fleetmqp must be set also.

Default Additional note on Alpha Tags

If any tag in the column has more then 12 charactors, it will trunkcate to the 1st 12.
