Default 996t SCANNING help

I can't, for the life of me....figure out, (read the manual over & over)how to scan say from 866.000-869.000 and get it to work. I'm using the ARCPRO and still cannot seem to get it done. I want to pickup freq. just in this area.

MENU --> Search For... --> Edit Custom --> Custom 1 --> Edit Search Limit

At "Set Lower Limit" enter 866.0, then E.
At "Set Upper Limit" enter 869.0, then E.

MENU --> MENU --> Custom Search

Now, press 0,2-9 so that only the "1" indicator is on the bottom of the display. The scanner will custom search that range.

Yes, it will stop on digital and conventional. But, in the Srch/CloCall Opt" menu, be sure "CTCSS/DCS Search" is Off (else the scanner can't decode P25).

Anything you find in this area will be off of a trunked radio system. You'd need to actually program in the system's control channel frequency into a system in the scanner to follow a complete conversation.

If you are unfamiliar with trunked radio systems, you'll need to learn the new language.

Try http://wiki.radioreference.com, then follow the Trunked Radio Basics links.
