Cable is the same, but the protocol is radically different. No, it won't work.

ARC996 does not work with the BC95XLT, for the BC95XLT we developed ARC95. Like Paul mentioned the protocol is totally different.
The Uniden USB1 cable does work with both the 996 and BC95XLT.

Default Upman/Butel

Since both of you are surfin'..thought i would ask a question(s) First, I'm using a 996 w/ARCPRO software..when the program opens and i go to the tap at the top, internet, radio reference, trunked, and type my state (NC), county (cabarrus),system (motorola) and find and create new sysytem...i high-light the one box to the left (prim) and the complete list on the righ...i've created system....and i sent it to the scanner..no prob. there...But i notice when i look in the groups etc. there are no frequencies there ? Where can i find 'those' frequencies...and is it actually scanning those groups w/out the frequencies being seen ?

The manual really sucks for those who have never used a hi-tech gadget like this one. It IS a awesome unit...and i have been 'Searchin' the site and reading the manual...but i think they need to put alot of it in 'english'..lol or make a scanner for dummies book..lol

Thanks for the awesome site and info..and everyones support....

I'm from the ol' school....hit program...enter frequency, hit enter, hit scan....and listen..lol

Me and Paul have nothing else to do :-)

Groups in a trunk system are used to store the talkgroups. To see the trunk frequencies click the system icon in the system browser on the left then in the right pane you see the general system parameters and a tab called 'trunk frequencies'.

And you can buy 'two way radios and scanners for Dummies' at amazon.com ....

:-) means it is a joke,

It is a trunk system so 2 frequencies is certainly possible, there is no relation between number of frequencies and the number of talkgroups.

Ok than...cool beans.....I mean...i know how the forums go...and i realize you wouldn't even have time to eat/drink if no-one at least re-searched some things. I try...i really do....but like i said before...theres way too much info out there on trunked systems even the wiki...wow...so being outa the scanner thing for awhile and in my late 40's...missed alot in between...anyways, i'll quit ramblin....and try and learn something...BUT, i'm still not done asking questions....so i'm not goin' anywhere...lol
