Question TK-630H programming help needed

I am trying to program my Kenwood tk-630H loow band mobile with Kenwood's KPG-7D version 2.01 software using a serial port and wire for the same utilizing comm 1 . When I click on READ FROM RADIO or PROGRAM THE RADIO an error message says CONNECTION ERROR...I checked my connections and even went into the control panel into device manager and it says I'm setup for comm 1 and it's working ok , but I only get error messages !!!! Any suggestions...

Try this: Hold down OPT while powering on the radio to put in in program mode,
Or just hold down the "OPT" key for about 1-2 seconds until it displays Programing.
On an Alpha head, it's the button just to the right of the channel selector knob.
One of the above works on a TK-830 (the UHF cousin) - I just can't recall exactly.

If you don't get the prob solved, post a question at this forum:

The Radio Information Board Forum > Kenwood Commercial Products
http://radio.the161.net/viewforum.php?f=9

there are several active threads dealing with that model,
and the folks there are VERY helpful.

Come back and post what you did when successful.

Good luck!
