Suggestions for new release
If a new release of ARC996 Pro is coming, I'd like to offer a couple of friendly suggestions. First, I like ARC996 Pro a lot -- programming the radio would have been a major chore without it.
That said, there are a few quirks that could possibly be fixed in the next release.
(1) If I "Read" a trunked system from the radio, and then later "Read" a second trunked system from the radio, the frequencies associated with the first system often disappear (as viewed in ARC996 Pro). I have sometimes made changes to the first system, then sent it to the radio, only to find that the system is unscannable because it has no frequencies.
(2) If I "Read" several systems from the radio, make some changes, and send them back to the radio, the first system sometimes has a random set of additional QuickKeys enabled. I normally have QKs 1,2,3,4 enabled for a certain system. Sometimes, by the time I send it back to the radio, several others are also enabled, such as 8 and 0. Often I don't notice the change until the data gets into the radio, although looking back at ARC996, I do see it on the screen.
Perhaps these changes can make a useful program even better.
