EDACS on Win 92 for a Pro 2067
I just downloaded Win 92 for my old PC that is streaming (at this time) only conventional systems from the 2067. I've had problems manually programing 800MHz trunked systems in the 2067...any tips on how to use Win92 to expedite the process (while referencing the RR DB?)
I read that the control channels have to be in a particular order...do they appear in that order on the RR Database?
Are there any shortcuts?
Thanks,
Kevin

Yes, frequencies for Edacs systems have a small 01,02,03 ect next to them. That is the order the need to be entered. Also start with channel 1 in the bank, not 0.
The channels have to be in the LCN order. all frequencies must be entered, not just control channels.

Where do they have the small 01, 02 etc. next to them?
Thanks...

http://www.radioreference.com/module...me=RR&sid=1381 this link to the DB shows the frequencies and the smaller lightly shaded 01 through 06 LCN numbers next to them. Just enter the freqs in that order set them as EDACS per freq in Win92 and also set the BANK as EDACS, then enter in all the talkgroups you want to monitor and set the bank to CLOSED. Or if you want to leave the bank in OPEN mode to search for new talkgroups as well as hear the known ones you have programmed.
The Warren County programming is a little easier. Just put in the CC's (they are in RED in the DB) and set them by freq to MOTO and set the BANK to MOTO also. They can be entered in any channel in a given bank, as opposed to the EDACS that have to start in channel #1. Your talkgroup info goes in the same way. Of course the OPEN / CLOSED choice is yours depending upon your goal.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help. I have all of them entered, but when I "Upload To Scanner" The scanner is telling me all channels are locked out. Weird. Also, when I enter the control freqs, I don't see where (in Win92) I can designate each freq to be "EDACS"...I only see the EDACS option for the entire bank. Am I missing something?
*edit* I found it. Rx mode. Durrrrrrrr. ;- )
Thanks,
Kevin

You will need to moto & edacs in separate banks

Doggone it! I can't get this to work. I have all of the control freqs in, (starting on channel 1), each is set to Edacs, the bank is set to EDACS. I have several talkgroups added. I used the DEC id's, and also checked that the AFS IDs were converted correctly.
The scanner will scan the bank, but I'm not getting anything. My BC246 is right here working overtime.
Any ideas on what I missed?
Thanks,
Kevin

You keep mentioning control channels. With EDACS systems you MUST put all channels in in the proper order, not just control channels. Perhaps you should try to re-initialize the scanner. Turn it on, as soon as the welcome screen is displayed press 0 then 1. let it go thru the process, do not turn it off until it show's the welcome screen again. Also make sure in win92 that those freqs. are not locked out. Good Luck.

I did put all of the (six) in order, starting on channel 1 (not zero). Before I changed the individual frequencies to EDACS under Rx type, I could hear the "control channels" or whatever the six channels (per the above DB page) are called. I changed each individual Rx type to EDACS, as well as the "bank type".
Here's a screenshot:
Any thoughts?

Your setup looks ok to me. The only thing I do different is use the delay on only one frequency. The 2067 has a tendency to miss parts of transmissions, and when I first got mine I read somewhere on the forums or in the manual to set the delay on only one frequency. Also adjusted the delay time to receive the best it could. It still seem's like you should be hearing comms with the setup you have. Does the progress bar in win92 and on the scanner show upload progress until complete ?

Upload progress bar looks fine and the "verify" function checks out. Delay is set on the settings tab at 2 seconds.
I'll try to set the delay only for the first channel and see if I get anything. (I added a couple of heavily trafficed Sheriffs TGs to test...and still nothing.
Thanks for the help...I'll continue to bore and bug you with updates

I have my delay set at 0.4 on the trunk rescan feature (front page of win92). your setup should work, I just looked in the DB, and your right on. Maybe one of the heavy hitters can jump in with some help. Keep us posted.

Screenshot looks like it should work......
I have had success monitoring EDACS systems on vacation and trips (recently Spotsyvania and Hanover Counties in VA) I have no EDACS sytems near my home. The only things I see different from your screenshot and my programming from Win92,96,97 is that I have my delay turned OFF for EVERY frequency in every trunked system I monitor, MOTO or EDACS, and that I have the "00" channel left unprogrammed but not locked out. I don't think either one of those minor differences would keep you from being able to Monitor Clinton County's system.

This and the 92 arn't CC only scanners so all frequencies are requeired for Motorola but LCN not required.

Kevin,
If you hear CC noise on 868.1875 when selected manually, the setup in your Screenshot should work well.
Try pressing PROG>TRUNK and verify your ID's are indicated on line 2 & 3 of display.

Why don't you dump the radio to a file (through Win92) and post the file here (zip it or add '.txt' to the file name). Don't give us what you already have on the computer, but rather download a new copy from the radio and lets take a look at it.

Kevin,
The file is invalid, either leave .p97 in the name prior to .txt or zip the file as .p97.
