Question BCD396T Scanner programming

I am having a hellava time programming this stupid scanner!!!!!!! I am using (or at least trying) the Scanner control software BCD396T UASD Ver 1.4.1.1 I have made a group and added a few freqs to it but it will not upload...can some give me some step by step...kind of a programming my BCD396T for Dummies? Thanks!!

Does the software tell you it is able to see the scanner?

on the database tab, you should be able to select a "Scanner Configuration" from the left and then press the "Write To Scanner" button at the bottom...

anyone know how i can copy the scanner frequencies from radio reference into the uasd...

Yeah - don't bother. The UASD does not support the web service, and if memory serves, me someone tried the Excel import trick, and it didn't work. You already have a premium subscription, so you'd be far and away better off by using FreeScan or BCTool. Both are freeware programs, have much more functionality than the UASD (FreeScan in particular, since it supports many of the newer firmware capabilities - BCTool doesn't, yet), and talks to the web service.

We host the user guide for FreeScan in our wiki. If you are looking to load up some Maryland or DC stuff, I think we can help with that. Links to follow....73 Mike

i have freescan downloaded now i just need to import the frequencies from local areas.. any suggestions where i can get these from and how do i import them into the program...
