Default Pro-2096 Upgrading To DSP 1.4

I'm trying to download the latist DSP Update 1.4 for my Pro-2096 I am using the USB Data cable that you can buy seperate to use for the radio. But when i goto the program to download the update to my scanner it tells me I need to select a com port? How can I download it using the usb serial cable?

you download it to your computer then open it and upload to the scanner, but you need the 20-047 USB cable and MONO plug. Once you open the file just follow the directions.

That's what I am using the 20-047 USB cable and the mono plug and once I did that it tells me to select the com port that I am using. Maybe I am using the wrong download file? here's wha I am using http://wiki.radioreference.com/index...96#DSP_Upgrade

Do You use win96? if so open that program and check what com port you are using with it. Use that port number for the upgrade and make sure your cable is hooked up in the same usb port.

First make sure the driver is loaded for the 20-047, then download the update again, note WHERE you put it, then go and run it, it should work no problem.

Install the driver first BEFORE you plug the cable to a usb port, otherwise Windows will install it's own driver it thinks it needs and therefore will not let your cable work.

Not a problem, gotta help each other out once in a while right? BTW, nice avatar pic there. I shoot a lot of racing , although I slowed down a bit this year, just a few small tracks, mostly did IRL and NASCAR this year.

RacingOne, nope, I do it for a local paper, and on occasion some race mags. I got some great shots of TS at the 400 this year, and at the 500 Danica and Sarah... but a friend of mine is Sarah's crew chief, and now her husband
No update for boot, it's all the DSP

That is very cool I been a forum member on R/1 for about 2 years now on different screen names and it's been a blast gotta know how to handle the smart butts if they whine about your topic thread. They shoulda came out with a Boot update since they updated the DSP. I do have a question for you or someone else I have 460.575 & 415.200 programmed into the scanner when I had Radio Shack program it and I am not hearing anything when the two frequencies show up on the display when someone talks? I tried the different modes and I don't hear anything and I can not find anything about the two frequencies anywhere.
