Lookin Good
Don,
I brought down the latest version last night and its lookin good.
I was able to use both the WIN-96 and WIN-97 import funtion and it worked great.
Talk about time saving.......
I really liked the ability to select all the talkgroups and then change the scanlist number.
I also looked at the control tab and that looks to be taking shape also.
Thanks for all your hard work.... (And just about daily updates....) Tom/G

DCS codes not importing properly from Win97 file
I imported my current Win97 file into Win500 and all of the DCS codes imported wrong.
One example is DCS code 051 imported as 017......I know 051 is correct as I listen to this agengy all the time.
CTSS codes seem to be fine......altho I will double check them.
*****************
When will the copy/paste option be available?
Will we be able to change the LED color options?
How soon will the WX / SAME feature be implemented?
Love it so far.......keep up the good work.

If you're referring to "text" copy/paste, like from Excel or a text editor... soon. You can already copy/paste complete objects within the program.

The 8 colors that you can change in the radio's "GLOB" menu? Soon.

Also "soon".
I have a couple of other features to add before the above items, however.

OK. I see what it's doing and why. Win500 is looking at the channels' receive mode (LTR) before it checks for a non-zero frequency. It's seeing what it (erroneously) thinks is an LTR channel and is importing it. I have that fixed for the next release.
I do have to ask, though... why do you have unused, 0.000 MHz channels set up as "LTR"?
EDIT: It "works" in the PSR-500 because there's (apparently) no RF activity on 148.033750 MHz, or not enough to cause a problem. Those bogus system channels should just appear to the radio as "idle" LTR channels.

How many system frequencies for a Moto UHF system?
Hi Don (and everyone else),
I have started setting up a TSYS for the wide area Motorola UHF Omni-link smartzone system used here. I usually set it up (in the 396 and my previous PRO-96) with all the known control channels in one "bank". I was trying to do the same with the Win500 software, but there is only room for 32 channels. At the moment there are about 37 CC for this system across the state.
Can I expand the number of frequencies in the system or am I stuck with 32?

Because that is the way Web Import brought the system into Win97.

Look at what happened to the freqs this AM! Saved the file last night and system was working in scanner this AM but reset scanner to default and done some manual programming. Then reloaded this file and now have all freqs as 0.0000. All well, nice to have backups

I am having a problem with some TSYS objects. When I click on the "system frequencies" button for an existing TSYS object the frequencies appear as usual. I make no changes, click OK, and when I click back on the object and on "system frequencies" the frequencies are all zeroed out. I should mention that these systems are set to "splinter", if that makes any difference.

Issue assigning backlight function on mult tgrp objects
Hello,
I find that if I select multiple conv entries, I can edit the backlight setting and it is made for all selected entries. However, when I try to do the same on a list of tgrp objects for a trunked system, it doesn't make the backlight setting for all selected (sometimes none are made, and sometimes only the first one). I want to have the backlight some on for activity on all tgrp objects so having this addressed would save me a LOT of individual editing time...
Thanks,
-David

Are you sure you're referring to Win500?
Currently, Win500's "Details" controls at the right side of the CONV and TSYS pages only affect the first selected object. Having them change all selected objects is a planned feature, though.

DCS Direct Entry
Don
Love the current alpha software release - been using WINxx ever since the "good old days" of the PRO-92.
I am not able to direct enter any DCS tones - any trick, or is this feature not yet released?
I did the PRO-97 imports prior to the current fix - just need to clean up.
Again - great job and thanks for the continued support!!!

Don,
Just a random question. I know Pro96Com currently does 9600 and is planning to add 3600, EDACS, and LTR but are you planning on adding a logging feature down the road to Win500? I think it would be great to have in one package. Personally I would like to see not a full logging program like Pro96Com but more like something with computer control that logs what systems were accessed, what talkgroups were accessed, all the way down to what conventional frequencies were used. How many times it was accessed, etc. I thinking something on the line of most of the Uniden computer control software.

Version 0.18; On the TSYS Objects tab; the talkgroups display properly under Windows XP but do not show up under Windows Vista. Is anybody else seeing this?

Isn't hit count (part of the radio and read into the software) doing what you want?

But hit count doesn't record hits in search or sweep functions, and AFAIK there is no setting to auto save them (but that would be a nice option (hint GRE)

In a way but it also would be nice to have it built into the software. That way I could much more easily sort through everything.

Version 0.19 now available.
Changes:
- Changes in one tab now update modified item(s) in other tabs
- Let CONV and TGRP controls (to the right of their respective grids) update multiple selected objects at once. When the selected objects' settings vary, the controls will indicate this - checkboxes will be "dimmed but checked"; drop-down list boxes will indicate "multiple"; and numeric edit boxes (Delay Time and Hit Count) will be empty. For check boxes, you can cycle through All Off, All On, and Original Setting (dimmed but checked). For drop-down lists boxes, you can set all objects to a new value, or re-select "multiple" to restore the original settings. For edit boxes (for which you must click the Store button before changes are applied), you can delete all text from the box to restore the original settings.
- Removed all 22 scan list columns (the individual checkbox columns) from the CONV and TGRP grids, since their functionality is replaced by the change above.
