Question, why cant you just put in the frequencies, but 15 MHz lower?

If you were doing it manually, Ron, you're absolutely right - but that's only 1 step. There are a couple more - namely resetting the site type and putting in the custom table (and I'll add the additional wrinkle that the table is only needed for analog and mixed mode Motorola type systems). I'm pretty sure the Easier to Read manual covers this - along with the required table values.

EDACS systems only require that you drop the frequencies (as you suggest) and maintain the correct LCN order.

I believe Jan is talking about the rebanding tables for the custom search feature. Not that many people know of it or use it and until now the settings haven't been retained for it. However, I added this to my todo list so I won't forget for the next version.

May I just say here that FreeScan is the only reason I havent thrown away my old Windows laptop. I cant get over the fact that we get all this functionality in a scanner programming software package and yet its free. Kind of makes me feel guilty. Thanks cpuerror and Sixspot.

It seems like the option to change the backlight color per channel is now missing. I go into Edit Conventional Group and the option is not there anymore. I usually assign a color to service (blue for police, red for fire, etc.)

I also noticed the volume increase/decrease setting by channel is no longer available on that same screen. Have those options been eliminated?

Other than those minor things, I really like the software & it is very helpful. I'm running latest version 2.15 for Windows 7 with 396XT and 996XT scanners.

Default Trunking Sites and Groups

I have just started using Freescan on my 396T after being afraid to try it for three years. Three years of fun wasted. I love it. Question. Downloading Washington State-Snohomish County-Emergency Services Trunk, there are eight sites. I did not deselect any of them and gave them all one site number. I selected only the fire TGID's and gave them group numbers. When it downloaded into the 396, it put each group with each site there by creating the same groups under each site. What I wanted was one site with the groups under it like the old days. Make sense yet? I took the Boeing trunk and manually inputed their control channels (like the old days) then manually put in the groups. It showed up like I wanted it to. How do I get all the sites in without putting groups under each one. Manually put the control channels in and then download groups? (haven't tried that yet) Only question so far but I'm going to try loading up a friends 396XT this week. We'll see how that goes. Thanks Lynnn

The 396T only supports one site per system, so to get all 8 sites in there, 8 systems have to be created with the same set of groups.
You can combine the control channels together in one site, but if you do you might miss some traffic because the scanner will only listen to one control channel at a time and ignore the others.

Thanks for an awesome tool Assaf. My netbook has a 1024x600 display. In some cases the information in the windows extends below the bottom of the screen and there are no scroll bars to access the information that is off-screen. Is there a possibility of getting some scroll bars?

Default 346XTC support

Is there any time frame for adding support for the 346XTC to FreeScan?

Thanks.

I also went ahead and updated the URL link
in the Freescan user guide in the RR Wiki.
It still showed the no longer valid URL.
