Default BC780XLT Software

Well, this 'ol dinosaur is looking to go with programming software for my BC780. Re-programming by hand seems silly anymore. Nothing fancy, but something that will work into the future. I'm also considering a GRE-600, so I'll start with the 780 and work up from there. Didn't see any relevant info for the 780 in the archives. Any advice for the 780 or GRE-600 would be appreciated. Also tips on cables??

ProScan has the clear edge - with a premium subscription to RR you can download data directly into its editor. The next best is Scan Control - it has a copy/paste function from RR for getting data into the editor. Its editor is a little too 80-ish for my liking, but it does work. If memory serves, there isn't anything special about the cable needed for the 780 - a simple DB9 will do nicely.

For the 600, there are 3- and they all are similar in many ways. PSRedit, ARC500 and Win500. They all have the RR import capability - and I'm sure more than a few folks that like/dislike one over the other. Let the comparisons begin!

The wiki pages for these scanners are below...(the links for the software are in the software section...)
