I have a pro 2096 with the computer cable and i cannot get the freqs. from the RR database to the win96 program to download to the scanner.Any help would be great

Make sure you have the proper COM port set in the software. Open Windows Device Manager look under Ports and see what COM port number the cable is assigned.
You might want to check off Enable Readback tests and Extra Write Time

I bought the download cable from Radio Shack for $30.00 but it does not want to work on Vista, it keeps saying timed out waiting for header! Any ideas on how to fix the problem. Thanks in advance......KC0JUX

The software needs to be set for the proper COM port see my posting above on doing this.
