If it's the city you're in, you'll probably get the 900 stuff on just about anything... so you should get something that works better for the stuff that's more distant. But if you need improved performance on 900, you won't get much with that. You should look for a dedicated 800-900 type antenna.

From my experience, no.
Scantenna is great on UHF and VHF, pretty poor on 800 and up.
I recommend a Yagi tuned to the 900 band. (Check Ebay)
