Has anyone used a Diamond CR8900A on an NMO mount? I have one and plan on using it on a hatchback mount on my minivan, but with a spare NMO mount (and the NMO-UHF adaptor) I wonder how much of an option this would be.

Due to the height and inflexibility of the antenna I am worried that it might flex the NMO mount when I whack tree branches.

If you are mobile and wack your antenna on a low hanging tree branch that can be enough to break any type of mount and the antenna as well. If you are worried about this go with what you have. Then if it breaks after wacking a tree you have lost less money in the investment.
