Ok, not knowing what I'm doing, so I'm asking for some input.

If I put both omni and directional antenna up and connect them at the mount to run 1 line would I do more harm then good for signal?

My main focus is a APCO25 system in the 453mhz area. This tower is 20 miles (by gps) from my location at 15 watts. (During the testing phases of this system it was know to be a dead zone in my area). To make this worse I have a mountain 3 miles away that is 900ft higher then me. The omni is a UHF 6db gain antenna I have not got it on the roof yet but from inside of the house it will get what I need around here except this one system.

The directional antenna I have just come across and don’t know much of it, other then it has 3 sets of elements. I was told where to hook the cable at but nothing on how to tune it. Anyone have the math for it?

Thanks for any input.
Jeff
