Can anyone recommend a good unidirectional antenna for the 800mhz band for use with the uniden bct8? I live on a mountain with a view off so I want to be able to point the antenna at what I want to listen too. Any help would be great.

get a nice yagi. Like a sinclair or TACO. I recently sold a Sinclair 800 MHz Yagi, and the buyer said it was RED HOT.

Cheers.

that one also looks great. Any yagi designed for the frequency will work fantastic.

The one from DPD Productions is supposed to be outstanding as well.

DPD Production's antenna is a Log Periodic, not a Yagi. It looks similar but performs differently. A Log Periodic is a wide-band antenna, and more omni-directional than a Yagi. A Yagi is typically narrow band and very directional with high-gain off the front, and good rejection off the back.

But you are correct, the DPD Production 700-1000MHz LP is a great antenna.
