Will a magnetic cb antenna work for a molble scanner

You would be much better using a scanner antenna or a commercial antenna. If your looking for something cheap, one of the best places Ive found is the local junk yards. Ive gotten a few NMO mount antenna's from there in the past.

Thanks, Is it the length that is the problem Can you cut it down? i dont have A cb anymore so no great loss if i screw it up. What lenght would you want for around the 150 to 160 range ?

CB antennas have a loading coil in them, so cutting them down will do nothing

I use a CB antenna for all bands, not optimal by any means but it works fine for me,
get yourself the adapter you need from Radio Shack (yes for the purists,this also cuts in to reception). If you find it works for you, great, if not, explore Plan B, a scanner antenna designed for the bands you monitor. Good Luck.
