-----> FYI <-----

I bought one of these and i must say i am NOT impressed.

I mounted it at the same height and facing the same direction as my ST2 antenna
and the ST2 works better then the yagi,(150mhZ - 156mhZ), while the ST2 is some what directional, the yagi is fully directional and pointed in the direction of the weakest stations i was
trying to pull in better, there was NO change and on about half of the stations it was worse.

May work better for others, but for me, I was not impressed.

Same cable type used on the ST2 was used on the yagi.
Same scanner used for both via a coax switch

It was a good side by side comparison with pretty much ALL thing the same
and the yagi did NOT provide the directional features i had hoped it would.

At the same price for both, i would buy another ST2 before this particular yagi.

Vertical yagis

Digitalanalog:

Don't forget, you can get loss, depending how you mount a vertical beam on metal pipe. Going back to the first poster's linked picture, that beam is on the flat side, 90 degrees away from the metal mast. No loss. But if the same beam in that picture was turned vertical, the metal mast would make that a 4 element beam, with one element way out of resonance. Unless you have a vertical beam that end mounts to the mast (or tower), your mast needs to be schedule 80 PVC.

I think this weekend i will raise up by 10' and see if that helps.
I live in a valley and i am rural, but this antenna is NOT performing as well as the ST2.

Maybe/hopefully the added 10' will make some changes for the better.

Well, I raised up another 10' and so far nothing has improved.

I bought some 3/8 aluminum tubing and i will build my own antenna.
and it cost less for the tubing then i paid for the Centerfire antenna.
