I am looking to replace the stock antenna on my 2007 chevy cobalt with a dual band VHF/UHF antenna for amateur radio use. I have fount that sti-co makes some covert stock antenna replacements that look nice, but from what I can tell they cost several hundred dollars (is that correct? I only found a couple places with published prices).

Are there any other antennas/NMO mounts out there that can replace the stock antenna?

I do not necessarily need the antenna to also connect to the car radio, but if it isn't too expensive, does anyone know of anywhere where I could find a diplexer to split broadcast frequencies to the car stereo and VHF frequencies to my transciever? I'm already dealing with a low power repeater, so I don't want to split the signal in half just to hook up the stereo.
