I picked up one of these antennas today, How long should the antenna be if I want to cover the whole 2 meter band.

If you're talking about transmitting also, please disregard this post. If you are talking about receiving only, I have used the older model of the ASP7795 (UHF version of the antenna you're asking about) on my scanners for many years and have been very satisfied with my results all across the bands. I recently "graduated" to the Larsen Tri-Band, but sometimes still go back to my older ASP7795 as the difference is very minor until I get down to the low band. Of course I'm in the DC area which is chocked full of RF, so a coathanger will get ok results as well.

Thanks for your reply I plan on transmitting with it, the primary freq I will be using is 147.045, but would like the swrs to be low on 144-147
