I have about 200' of RG-6 3Ghz cable on my house going to my satellite. I looked at the specifications online and it shows very low loss on VHF and UHF bands. My question is are there losses true and would 75ohm cable work for only rxing without much loss?

In 90% of scanner installations, you won't notice any difference between 50 ohm and 75 ohm cable. If you transmit, the cable impedence does matter but for reception it generally doesn't matter. Actually there are scanner antennas that are 75 ohm by design.
