Default Pro 106 suggestion

As of now I have the rs 800 MHz antenna and my problem is I just moved a few miles and can no longer pick up some of the local pd channels in the 150 range too clear . Is there an antenna that will help me out or is what I have as good as I'm getting? Is also need to pick up the 800 MHz range. Sorry for my scanner ignorance I'm still trying to learn. Thanks

I highly recommend the Nagoya 771 BNC or the Diamond RH77CA

I have the Nagoya and I get 2 or 3 bars on systems I have never even received before. Reception on Air, VHF, UHF, and 800 have all improved and digital decode is better.

I have an RS telescoping antenna on mine sometimes, and it seems to work pretty good. You can adjust its height based on what you want to receive best. Is your scanner primarily used stationary or mobile? Scanning indoors with a simple antenna can be problematic sometimes...

If you have the resources, you can get away with putting a magnet-mount antenna (like the RS 20-032) on a window A/C unit or other large metal surface and will probably pick up the 150 channels again. You have the 800mHz antenna, and I'll bet you probably listen to the scanner indoors, right? The walls will attenuate the signal somewhat, and since you've moved, you probably moved further away from the tower that broadcasts the 150 mHz channels you're wanting to listen to. Those 800 mHz antennas will work somewhat for listen to transmissions in the 150 mHz range, but it won't be as good as it can be. There's a guy in my town that has the Diamond antenna mentioned above on a Pro-106 and he's catching a P25 signal 30 miles away no problem.

Are you able to put up a antenna outside?

Thanks for the replies! Yes I'm scanning indoors and an outside antenna isn't really an option. I think I'm going to try the diamond and go from there.
