Default rs vhf-hi/uhf antenna {model 20-176} & antennacraft st2

which antenna is better

'Better' depends on how/what you want. The RS antenna does well on 2 meters and that general area. It will do less 'well' the further you get from that general area. It just happens to be resonant on 2 meters. I've never owned an 'ST2' so can't make a comparison. Going only by what I've heard and the general construction of the thing, I think it would probably do 'better' than the Radio Shack antenna, maybe.

Well I think you can transmit on some freqs with the RS discone, but the AntennaCraft ST2 can receive quite good. I would go with the AntennaCraft ST2.

i have the small rs antenna

I have both and use them regularly. Do a forum search for both models here on RR . You should find a lot of info on both antennas.

I have had both antennas, For what i listen to, Air & VHF the 20-176 worked better for me. I broke the ST-2 up and put it in the garbage.
