Hi reconrider8: Glad to see you pulled the trigger. Let us know when it comes in and how the install goes for you.

I'm telling you, the Spectra is second on low band only to an antenna cut to the low band frequencies. I am amazed at it.

Its second place to the old A/S MON series and a good tuned low band antenna longer than about 3ft trumps both.

I have one and I swear by it. It's the best antenna I've ever owned.

Another Spectra user here! Key to excellent reception-especially low band-is to ensure a solid metal to metal mechanical ground from the mount to the vehicle body, at least where there is metal. Mine is mounted passenger side trunk mount. Like y'all, I get some inquiring looks but that's it. Using a Yaesu VR 500 and a AOR 8200MKIII. Sometimes I swap it out with a Larsen 2/440 dual band and although a nice performing antenna, I eventually return to the Spectra. I'd like to get the ground plane mounting kit for home use but find Austin's street price too high.

Anyway, excellent product and be careful of the fragile inner contact.

What did you for the good ground? Cause mines pretty good but its got some static in it and a couple frequencies kinda get hung up

Any pictures yet?

I'm considering ordering the Spectra (with a trunk lip) to go with my PSR-800. I'm hoping this to be the antenna to top all antennas.

Where did you order your Spectra reconrider8?
