Default Best mobile mag-mount VHF-UHF antenna?

I am about to purchase a BC355N for my vehicle and am contemplating which antenna to use. It has to cover the VHF ranges...

45.xx
46.xx
151.xxxx
154.xxxx
453.xxxx
458.xxxx
460.xxxx

I drive a Hyundai Tucson, so I don't want anything long. I want to roof mount it and go into parking garages now and then and don't want to have to take it off.

I am already considering the SpectrumForce Wideband on ScannerMaster.com. Some people have been recommending the Larsen Tri Band, but it does not cover the lower frequency ranges that I need. i know that the old Radio Shack magnetic mount is an option, but I don't want something that high. The SpectrumForce is only 17" tall.

Thumbs up Spectrumforce wideband

I have the Spectrumforce wideband and for the price $20 you cant go wrong. I know there are better out there but this one is good for a start. It look like an old cell phone antenna when mounted on the car and has a really strong magnet. \

Thanks for the info. It's probably the one I am going to get. Just checking my other options.

I placed an order today with ScannerMaster for the SpectrumForce wideband mag-mount antenna. Should be purchasing the scanner (BC355N) on eBay tomorrow.

Default 25-1,00Mhz Magnetic Mobile Scanner Antenna

Hi-I just got the Hustler MRN-BNC from my distributor and it is a great antenna (strong magnet)that would probably retail for $29.95. Hustler has always made a great antenna and I am sure most people will agree with me. Make sure you don't get a refurbished Uniden BC-355N or a return. You can pm me if you want on that mobile/base scanner and also the antenna.
Happy New Year to you.

Bob

Thanks, Bob. I already placed an order online for the SpectrumForce from ScannerMaster. I will still check the Hustler out. Yes, I am buying the scanner on eBay and being very careful to read the description and check the seller's feedback. And Happy New Year to you.

Edit: I just checked it out and it appears that it excludes coverage for air, which I do listed to now and then...especially when i have to go to the airport to pick up/drop off relatives. Thanks though!

Default Uniden BC-355N

Hi Dave--It does cover air and if you want, I can assist you with this purchase. Hope you have a great 2013! If it doesn't include a mobile mounting bracket as Chauffer said, I have one for you at no charge as I will always help a Radioreference.com member so email me at EFD1881@aol.com

Thanks, Bob. Yeah, the SpectrumForce I bought covers the entire 25-1300MHz range I need. I actually just bought the scanner from them as well rather than eBay. It will arrive today! :-) Can't wait.
