As some of you know I had a Dark Blue 2005 Tahoe with 3 NMO installed on the roof. I had no problems since I could never get my Tahoe into the garage. I have since upgraded vehicles to a mint conduction / very low miles, Black 2007 Tahoe. With this vehicle I want to keep it garaged when at the house. Problem is my garage entrance has no clearance so drilling and installing my Larsen tri-banders are out of the question.

I know glass mounts are poor antennas. I'm interested in a front passenger fender install. Seeing the 07-13 don't have radio antennas this would be the perfect spot. I looked at a few NMO fender mounts online but I don't like the fact that they hang slightly over the edge. I'm trying to keep the vehicle clean without a metal bracket hanging off the side. I have seen a few brackets that actually angle inwards but there not NMO. I am looking for something for this general area, See attached photo.

If anyone has a suggestion be it bracket, mounting location, antenna, interior, even glass mount, I am open to ideas. Dual band VHF / UHF is a must. I can use a handheld for 800.

Note: I also looked at the Comet CP-5NMO idea for the rear hatch but the lift glass would hit it if I ever wanted to open it.

I also came across this today but it will not work. There is no metal to screw into in that area. http://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/tram-1252-bnc-1255b-1682.html

the Larsen dual band on glass antenna works very well

I've had one on several vehicles and had great performance

its the generic on glass antennas that have given glass mounts a bad name

Antenna specialists on glass antennas were also very good

Here is a pic of an l bracket I did for a scanner antenna. Used mainly for uhf/800 reception. Mounted on drivers side for a few years now.
