heres my plan. i have a vent stack on top of my house coming out through the roof. attach a pole and antenna to vent stack using clamps and rubber backing between clamps and pole with antenna mounted on top of pole. run cable through vent stack and drill a hole in vent stack to bring cable out into attic and down into wall into house. caulk around hole to prevent any fumes coming into attic. i would think this has been done before. anyone ?

I would make damn sure that vent is sturdy enough to hold everything in a wind storm.

I did this with a Scantenna and a 5 foot mast. My biggest concern was keeping the mast relatively short to ensure minimum stress on the vent.
Had it up there for 3 years until a recent move.

What type of antenna are you thinking? There is a company that makes antennas that fit over the vent. Their web page is ventenna.com. Don't have one or know how well they work, just remember quite some time ago seeing their ads.
