Okay I have a question, I have a larsen tri band antenna. It covers these bands,150/450/800 which will be used for scanning. I am making a truck lip mount and the nmo with antenna will be attach together. Now my question, I am seeing nmo with RG-58 and nmo with RG-58A/U
Which one would be the better cable to use for this situation?
Thanks

RG-58 and RG-58/U = solid center conductor

RG-58A/U = stranded center conductor

For a mobile application where there are likely to be some tight twists and turns, you're better off with the more flexible A/U stranded type. The attenuation is pretty much the same for both types, so don't worry about which is "better" in that regard. Just keep the run as short as possible and use a good quality connector installed properly on the end of it.
