This is my first post so i'm sorry if this is the wrong forum. I am going to get a new scanner soon to replace my old Uniden 210XLT. Since I moved to the basement, my reception is not near as good as my scanner upstairs. My question is, will installing a outdoor antenna in the basement boost my reception any? I could use a few feet of coax and put an antenna in or storage room in the basement pretty easy. I may eventually be able to put one on the roof but the it would take a lot of coax due to our layout. Any tips would be appreciated!

Short answer, no it wont. What would help is using enough coax to get the antenna into a window, or at least outside taped to the side of the house.
