Default GRLevel2 vs. GRLevel3 ?

What is the difference between level 2 & level 3? They both cost $79.95. I have tried level 2 a long time ago and I am trying level 3 now and was just wondering. I would like to get one for Christmas.--Gary

2 is for full meteorologists, it offers higher resolution data but doesn't have things like meso algorithsm, hail size, etc. http://nexrad.allisonhouse.com has some imagery that shows the difference.

Thanks for the reply. I have now purchased Level3, seems pretty cool. I was wondering if there are any courses (free) for understanding and reading weather maps. I have googled some, but haven't found anything like a printable or pdf manuals or courses. Anyone have any suggestions for a beginner. Thanks--Gary

http://www.weathergraphics.com has some great intro to map/radar reading books. More advanced stuff in the student section of the AWOC/DLOC classes at http://www.wdtb.noaa.gov
