Default all hazards status 10?

Hey guys just got a question for ya
I have my kenwood tk-280's programmed for all of the all hazards radio channels, and I have the 1050hz tone in them under 2 tone so my radios open up squelch when there is an alert, and it works great. I cant use the SAME codes but they still work. now for the questions
2 times now i have left the radio on a noaa channel and woke up to the radio making an alert beep. On the screen it says NEW then ID:10051 then STATUS 10 and the mail icon lights up. Has anybody else seen this or have an idea what this could be? Fleetsync or DTMF id for something occuring with the transmitter? any ideas?

Sounds like it may be getting a false interpretation of either the 1050 Hz tone or maybe the emergency indicator at the end of the message. That's weird though that it would be doing that. I doubt NOAA would transmit a Kenwood protocol on the air.

well I have only had this happen twice, and neither time was there a weather alert issued. It has just been random times. I didnt think that NOAA would use kenwood protocols either but its strange.

Do you have the radio set up for Fleetsync or any other modes on that channel?

Hmm, well I have no idea what to tell you. I monitor the weather channel with a TK-250 set to two tone, so I don't have to worry about all of that fancy stuff.
