Default Tornado weather alert app ect.

Does a alerting system or app exist that gives active real time notifications on tornado activity? I interested in all locations like tornado alley ect, not just my local area.

If you mean national weather service alerts, most modern cell phones have it built in. Or maybe I'm confused.

sorry to confuse. I would like to know when a storm is producing a tornado, not just where i live. I figured today with all the storm chasers and public safety teams that monitor this stuff, there would be a notification app that sends this general information out.

There is, but it is location-based. See if this will work for you:

I was using Wunderground (Weather Underground) for the last year or so and it would show forming tornados and storm tracks and expected direction. For some reason they upgraded their app and now nothing works - no storm tracking or other - I have tried many apps and am now forced to learn how to read radar but not sure where to find this info on the web...

Weather USA app works really well and gives push alerts whenever the NWS announces a watch or warning for your area. Also, if the alert is severe enough, you should get an emergency notification on your smartphone the same way Amber alerts go through.

If you want t receive Tornado warnings through an app,

You could use facebook or twitter apps as well:

https://twitter.com/NWSSPC
https://twitter.com/TornadoWeather

Here are some other decent apps;
Accuweather -you can enable "Severe weather alerts" for multiple locations
https://downloads.accuweather.com/

Red Cross app - I think this is a commercial sponsored app)
http://www.redcross.org/mobile-apps/tornado-app
(Or text: "GETNADO" to 90999_)

Code Red -commercial/government app

FEMA

PDC disaster alert app
