Default Weather Radio & Amber Alerts?

I bought a Midland WR-100 for weather alerts and programmed the SAME code for my area.

I only want to hear weather alerts - not amber alerts. Is it possible to prevent the amber alerts from opening the squelch? If not, is there a weather radio that is programmable for weather alerts and not amber alerts?

Take a look at this Midland site:
http://www.midlandradio.com/comersus...?idCategory=29

The WR-300 will allow you to select which alerts you want to hear alarmed. I am in North Central Texas where storms this time of the year can be bad. I have a WR-300 and would not do without it.

Very nice. I should have spent the extra and bought the 300. Thanks.

I also have the WR300 and it will allow you to turn off or on whichever alerts (including amber alerts) you do or don't wanna hear. Here is a small reveiew I did of my unit: http://www.radioreference.com/forums...ad.php?t=64323

I don't know about the WR-100.
