Default Shortwave video

Just a couple I've run across recently:

Radio Bulgaria's rotating HF antenna tower: YouTube - 80m High full rotating HF Broadcast antenna clip 2
Hams operating from a former Radio Nederland broadcast site: YouTube - Hamradio from the 'Big Gun' station.

That reminds me of the time hams operated from the defunct VOA transmitter site at Bethany OH before it was demolished. We could do without that obnoxious music though, that is unless you like ear bleed or hitting yourself over the head with a brick.

I've been doing 95% of my radio work from the car as I travel the area, here's a short piece of one of my new videos I'm working on:

This one will be on my attempt to hear (and video tape) 100 countries from the car. It will be tough! This past weekend I shot some stuff at sunrise and I'm also making an audio jumper cable to improve the sound. Again, this is just a sampler.

You don't need much of antenna to pick up great reception. My 5ft whip which is cut for 28mhz works great as a shortwave Rx antenna. The big keys are proper grounding and antenna mount.
