A French ham has put up the following page to help identify the mode being used when you hear/see a digital signal...

Descriptions RX/TX modes included in MULTIPSK by F6CTE - http://f1ult.free.fr

The english is a bit on the rough side, but each mode has a page that shows a trace of what the signal looks like, and has an audio sample...

We have several other such sites listed in our HF digital decoding article...

HF Digital Decoding - The RadioReference Wiki

Look in the Audio Samples section

Keep in mind there will be modes that we will NEVER decode. That's part of the challenge in this arena. These sites can be used to help at least identify the mode - sometimes that's enough to start to formulate a theory as to the user
