I've been searching the net for this and haven't found a definitive answer yet.

Anyone done this mod yet? It's got the MC3361CP chip where the discriminator is on pin 9, but is there a tap on the board for this? It looks like TP4 might be it, but I'm not sure.

Or is it just best to solder right to the pin on the chip.

Thanks!

pro2046 discrim tap

To TurboSupra and the group.

I too was looking for a way to do the discriminator tap on the Pro2046.
I just finished it today, bought a 10uuf tan cap and a 10k 1/8 watt resistor, a female 3.5 mm socket.
Pin 9 is the right one to tap, I did it right on the mc3361 chip as the other taps on it either had 100k or 56 k surface mount resistor's in series with this pin. I will attach a picture if I can.
It worked great, I'm decoding lots of data now, nearly error free. Lots of drive off this tap so I backed off on the windows adjustment to half scale and it's working great.
Hope this helps, maybe your already done with it.
